About the Role

Our client, a well-established regional courier service, is seeking an experienced and reliable Senior Delivery Driver to join their dynamic team in Paarl, Western Cape . This role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods to various business and residential locations within the designated delivery area. As a Senior Delivery Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and professional deliveries. While the primary role is field-based, there will be hybrid elements involving occasional office-based coordination for route planning and performance reviews. You will be responsible for operating a company vehicle, maintaining its cleanliness, and adhering strictly to all traffic laws and company safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

• Operate a company delivery vehicle safely and efficiently in various weather conditions.
• Transport goods from the depot to customers' locations within designated delivery routes.
• Ensure timely and punctual deliveries, meeting all scheduled timeframes.
• Load and unload packages, ensuring they are handled with care and protected from damage.
• Verify delivery addresses and obtain customer signatures or confirmations upon receipt of goods.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or damages immediately.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and operational procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service, representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist with occasional route planning and coordination tasks at the local depot, contributing to the hybrid work model.

Requirements

• Valid Code 10 driver's license with a PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
• Excellent driving record with no major traffic violations.
• Strong knowledge of the Paarl and surrounding areas' road networks.
• Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights.
• Good physical condition and stamina for loading/unloading goods.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to engage in hybrid work elements, including occasional office-based tasks.
