Job summary

Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP in Seattle seeks an experienced Paralegal to support civil and employment defense matters. Candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong communication and collaboration skills to work with attorneys and staff in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes case management, discovery, document review, and preparation for trial, including preparing pleadings, handling discovery requests, scheduling depositions, and maintaining meticulous time

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Certificate in Paralegal studies required.
• 5-7 years defense litigation paralegal experience.
• Civil litigation, and/or employment litigation experience required.
• Familiarity with web-based legal research services.
• Proficiency in an electronic file setting / paperless systems.
• Must pass background/drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with civil case preparation for trial.
• Review, analyze, and summarize legal documents.
• Manage discovery and records management.
• Schedule depositions and meetings with clients, witnesses, experts, etc.
• Identify and evaluate potential experts and prepare packages.
• Track document requests and follow up on progress.
• Summarize case records and discovery responses.
• Organize case files and coordinate with staff.
• Maintain time records and meet a 1,650 billable hours requirement.
• Proactively move cases forward per client guidelines.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Westlaw, Kofax.
