Job summary

CIRCOR in the defense manufacturing sector seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead planning of complex machining operations, develop processes and standard work, and ensure manufacturability of designs through collaboration with design, quality, and customer service.

You will program 3-5 axis CNC machines, design tools and fixtures, supervise capital equipment start-up, and drive Lean projects including Kaizen events.

Qualifications

• Experience with ERP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, AutoCAD or Solid Edge; 3D modeling a plus.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret varied instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare complete manufacturing processes and routes for tight tolerance complex parts.
• Develop and maintain standard work documentation for navy cell manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Evaluate complex manufacturing processes via process analysis and collaboration with suppliers and operators.
• Determine, design and implement cutting tools, fixtures, and gages for manufacturing and assembly operations.
• Determine root cause of failures using statistical methods (DOE, SPC) and adjust design or processes.
• Evaluate product designs for manufacturability.
• Generate part programs for 3 and 5 axis CNC machining centers and OD grinders (Esprit a plus).
• Generate programs for new capital equipment including test stand and noise equipment.
• Participate in evaluation, procurement and start-up of new capital equipment.
• Develop and manage multiple project plans and schedules with cost constraints.
• Create cost justification and Capital Allocation Requests and track savings.
• Understand GD&T and reading part drawings.
• Maintain knowledge via workshops and benchmarking.
• Provide leadership and mentorship on high level projects.
• Prepare test failure analysis for Engineering review.
• Participate in MRB meetings for material assessment.
• Document and enforce corrective actions on SIRs.
