This role involves collaborating with the software development team to enhance platform safety by assessing safety throughout the systems engineering development timeline. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in the Defense sector.

The position includes responsibilities such as defining Technical Safety Requirements, conducting Safety Verification and Validation, and supporting Project Safety compliance. A master's degree in a related field and the ability to obtain a Secret DOD security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience working as a Functional Safety Engineer preferably in the Defense sector.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DOD security clearance.
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 or ISO 26262.

Responsibilities

• Define system-level Technical Safety Requirements in a multi-functional environment.
• Evaluate customer requirements for System Safety and determine platform compliance.
• Perform Hazard Tracking and Analysis to determine compliance.
