Job summary

Tata Technologies is recruiting for a Functional Safety Lead in the United States (Georgia). The role focuses on leading the FSM framework, developing FSC/TSC concepts, and ensuring ISO 26262 safety compliance across hardware and software teams.

Candidate should have 7+ years in automotive engineering with hands-on ISO 26262 safety experience and strong HARA, FMEDA, FMEA, FTA expertise. Regional work authorization is required; only USC/GC holders eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related engineering field.
• 7+ years of automotive engineering experience.
• 4+ years ISO 26262 functional safety experience.
• Strong expertise in: ISO 26262, HARA, FSC/TSC Development, ASIL Classification & Decomposition.
• FMEDA, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Safety Case Development.
• Experience working with cross-functional hardware and software engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own the Functional Safety Management (FSM) framework and process.
• Perform Item Definition, Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), and Safety Goal development.
• Develop Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC) aligned with ISO 262.
• Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, validation, and supplier teams to ensure safety compliance.
• Define and manage safety requirements across the development lifecycle.
• Conduct and review safety analyses including FMEDA, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and ASIL decomposition.
• Drive supplier functional safety assessments and review safety work products.
• Develop and maintain Safety Cases supporting vehicle and system safety compliance.
• Mentor engineering teams on functional safety methodologies and best practices.
