Job summary

Shield AI seeks a Contracts Manager to lead contracts and subcontracts for defense simulation programs. You will ensure FAR/DFARS/ITAR compliance, negotiate terms, and uphold regulatory responsibilities across multiple stakeholders.

Hybrid work environment with office presence and travel as required. 8+ years in defense contract management, CPAF/CPFF/FFP/T&M experience preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Admin, Law, Contracts Management, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in contract management in defense contracting environments.
• Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, OTAs, ITAR, and government procurement processes.
• Experience negotiating complex terms and conditions of sale and purchase, and managing government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Identify contract vehicles, prepare and negotiate customer contracts, NDAs, MOUs, and SOWs.
• Draft and negotiate terms for subcontracts and supplier agreements.
• Administer large government contracts: monitor performance, manage modifications, and lead negotiations.
• Serve as the primary contact for contractual matters with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Program Management to align transactions with strategic objectives.
• Identify regulatory risks and ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR and other requirements.
• Assert rights in technical data and software for government contracts.
• Maintain organized contract records and manage subcontractor relationships.
• Issue and evaluate subcontractor RFPs; conduct cost or price analysis as needed.
• Coordinate subcontractor proposal evaluations with stakeholders; monitor subcontractor performance.
• Develop and monitor a small business subcontracting plan and track progress.
