Job summary

Humana Inc. invites a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Decision Intelligence, to join as a hands-on contributor building, deploying, and operating ML and decisioning pipelines for the NBA Decision Intelligence Platform.

In this role you will focus on production pipeline development, MLOps, feature engineering, scoring workflows, monitoring, and optimization-aware decisioning, collaborating across engineering and product teams to deliver reliable, auditable systems for millions of users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering or quantitative research building large-scale production systems.
• 2+ years of software engineering or quantitative research building large-scale production systems.
• 2+ years implementing reinforcement learning or simulation-driven decision systems in production.
• Familiarity with MDPs, RL concepts, and constraint formulation in real-world systems.
• Proficiency in Python 3.x with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with Ray RLlib for distributed training.
• Experience with Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake for large-scale ML pipelines.
• Experience with MLflow for experiment tracking and model registry.
• Experience shipping production systems.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and operate ML and decisioning pipelines for the NBA Decision Intelligence Platform.
• Develop production pipelines, MLOps, feature engineering, and scoring workflows.
• Monitor and optimize decisioning systems for reliability and audibility.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, data engineers, platform engineers, product owners, and decision engine teams.
