Job summary

Whitley Penn is seeking a Deal Advisory Services Senior Associate in Houston, TX. You will lead and execute financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, supervise junior staff, and communicate with clients and deal teams.

The role requires 2–3 years in accounting or advisory, strong GAAP knowledge, and excellent communication. Hybrid in-office/work model is expected, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA license or CPA eligibility preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in accounting, advisory, financial audit, or transaction advisory services.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and lead financial due diligence engagements related to mergers and acquisitions.
• Analyze financial/operational results of target companies through reviewing accounting information and interviews with management.
• Evaluate effects of seasonality and cyclicality on cash flow requirements.
• Assist with writing detailed reports and perform financial statement analysis including earnings quality and risks.
• Provide advisory services to clients to maximize opportunities and manage merger risks.
• Be part of engagement teams with senior client executives, attorneys, bankers, and PE investors.
