Job summary

Brightpath Associates LLC seeks a senior Database Administrator to lead Oracle and NoSQL database operations in AWS environments, including RDS, DocumentDB, and MongoDB. You will optimize performance, ensure security, and manage failover and recovery.

The role requires 10+ years of DBA experience with Oracle and NoSQL, strong migration skills from on-prem to AWS, and ability to coordinate with DevOps and application teams to ensure data integrity and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of DBA experience.
• Strong expertise in Oracle and NoSQL databases and AWS managed services.
• Proven experience with database migrations from on-premises to AWS.
• Ability to design failover, backups, and disaster recovery plans.

Responsibilities

• Database Management: Administer, maintain, and implement permissions and procedures for secure connectivity and integrity of databases.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance; coordinate with application teams for NoSQL interactions.
• Failover and Recovery: Design and test backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Migration and Upgrade: Lead migrations from on-premises to AWS and from relational to NoSQL.
• Security and Compliance: Enforce access controls and audit logging per privacy laws and regulations.
• Data Warehousing: Manage AWS Redshift and other data warehousing solutions for scalable data storage and analysis.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Use CloudWatch and other tools to ensure database health and automate scaling.
