Job summary

FIS is seeking an experienced Lead Database Administrator to plan and manage Db2 for z/os databases, including base definitions, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, and security controls.

You will mentor junior DBAs, coordinate with developers and technology teams, perform testing and production migrations, optimize performance, and ensure high availability through monitoring and disaster recovery readiness.

Qualifications

Minimum 8–10 years of Db2 for z/os experience in installation, customization, testing, and maintenance in a production environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across technical teams and applications teams.
Bachelor's Degree; LUW Db2 experience is a plus; programming, operations or tech support experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Plan Db2 for z/os databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, and security controls.
Perform testing of database software, IBM utilities and fixes in sandbox environments and production rollouts.
Migrate tested structures and fixes to production and optimize database performance and availability.
Coach less experienced DBAs; schedule tasks; support disaster recovery exercises and high availability.
