Job summary

UNIVERSAL Technologies LLC in New York seeks an experienced DB2 Database Administrator for a hybrid role. You will support IBM DB2 V12+ on z/OS, ensure high availability, manage backups, run RUNSTATS/REORG, and collaborate with development teams on data propagation and disaster recovery.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in data center/IT infrastructure, proven experience with InfoSphere Data Replication, and strong problem-solving skills to support enterprise systems and on-call rotations.

Qualifications

Four or eight years of full-time experience in data center engineering and operations or complex IT infrastructure engineering.
Proven experience with IBM DB2 V12 or higher on an IBM zOS platform.
Experience with IBM InfoSphere Replication and maintaining high availability in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

Ensure installation, configuration and tuning of DB2 databases and related systems.
Define and execute database recovery and maintenance procedures (RUNSTATS, REORG).
Collaborate with application teams to migrate software releases and resolve DB2 issues.
Open, manage and track IBM support tickets through resolution.
Support data propagation and replication responsibilities using InfoSphere tools and COBOL/DB2 interfaces.
