Job summary

Orion Innovation seeks a skilled DB2 Database Administrator to support DB2 v12+ on IBM z/OS for Payroll and Financial Management systems. You will install, migrate, tune, and recover databases, work with development teams to deploy releases, and ensure data integrity during production migrations.

The role requires experience with IBM DB2, InfoSphere Replication, CICS, and COBOL-based environments. You will engage in DR drills and coordinate with IBM for issue resolution, contributing to critical

Qualifications

Experience with IBM DB2 V12 or higher.
Experience working with application teams to build and maintain data propagation solutions using IBM InfoSphere Replication Server.
Experience with CICS transaction server.
Ability to author REXX scripts.
Ability to troubleshoot COBOL-related DB2 code.
Experience installing, configuring, and tuning DB2 databases.
Ability to perform comprehensive DB2 backup/recovery and reorg tasks.

Responsibilities

Ensure install, configuration, and tuning of DB2 databases are completed efficiently.
Author and validate procedures for all database processes.
Identify issues and deliver modifications for DB2 programs.
Coordinate with Tech Support for migrations and data fixes.
Assist systems with tool upgrades and participate in Disaster Recovery drills.
Monitor health of key DB2 operations (backup, recovery, logging, performance).
Open tickets with IBM and manage resolutions.
Collaborate with development teams to install/migrate software releases and support data fixes during production.
