Job summary

HNTB Corporation seeks a Design Manager for Highway/Managed Lanes to lead mega projects, mentor teams, and coordinate with clients nationwide. The role requires extensive experience delivering large-scale design-build highway projects and collaborating with contractors.

The position supports high-visibility pursuits, staffing, and performance objectives, with travel to project offices across the country. A PE and multiple-state experience are preferred for senior leadership in this area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 12 years of relevant experience including 6 years managing mega projects.
• Proven leadership of teams on highway design-build projects.
• Experience collaborating with contractors on large-scale infrastructure deployments.

Responsibilities

• Develops and nurtures key client relationships as primary company contact on assigned projects.
• Manages project financials including cash, budget, schedule and scope to meet goals.
• Staffs projects by coordinating with Directors and Managers to allocate resources per Work Plan.
• Collaborates with leadership to solve challenges and meet business objectives.
• Supervises and mentors teams; oversees Project Manager(s) and staff development and performance reviews.
• Leads pursuits of mega projects and develops long-term strategies with clients and pursuit champions.
