Job summary

XPRESSDOCS PARTNERS, LTD. in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Database Administrator II to manage MariaDB and Postgres clusters, automate schema updates, and oversee upgrades, replication, and backups.

The role requires deep database performance tuning, Linux expertise, scripting (Python or Bash), and Docker-based automation. You will collaborate with DevOps and developers to deliver robust, scalable data solutions benefiting marketing platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of experience administering MariaDB/MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• In-depth knowledge of database query planning and multi-page query optimization.
• Minimum 2 years deploying and managing Postgres and MySQL compatible AWS RDS instances.
• Linux proficiency and scripting (Python or Bash).
• Experience with Docker containers.
• Experience with AWS or similar.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and Ubuntu experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand existing MariaDB and Postgres architectures.
• Review and upgrade replication and backup processes.
• Build reports on reporting platforms to support data needs.
• Establish regular performance reviews and optimization.
• Manage and enhance data retention processes.
• Communicate with stakeholders to establish database standards.
• Address security issues with defined roles.
• Identify systemic errors and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with DevOps and developers for troubleshooting.
