Job summary

Xpressdocs is seeking a Database Administrator to manage MariaDB and PostgreSQL clusters, automate schema updates, upgrades, replication, and backups. You will optimize performance and guide developers on database usage while aligning with DevOps for smooth operations.

With Linux, scripting, Docker, and AWS experience, you’ll help implement robust, scalable solutions that minimize user impact and support our enterprise and franchise clients.

Qualifications

• 4+ years administering MariaDB and Postgres
• Knowledge of query planning and multi-page query optimization
• 2+ years building and managing Postgres/MySQL-compatible AWS RDS
• Linux expertise and scripting (Python or Bash)
• Troubleshooting across Linux, networks, and systems; strong communication with developers

Responsibilities

• Understand database architecture for MariaDB and Postgres
• Review and upgrade replication and backup processes
• Build reports on reporting platforms to support data needs
• Establish regular database performance reviews and optimization
• Manage data retention processes and security roles
• Collaborate with DevOps and developers for troubleshooting
