Job summary

WelbeHealth in Pasadena, CA seeks a Personal Care Assistant to provide hands-on care for seniors at our day center as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will support participants with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and assist with meals while ensuring safety and comfort throughout the day.

The role involves collaborating across departments in a lively day center, offering full-service care from appointments to activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification of Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant in California (CNA) preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing personal care to seniors.
• CA Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 180 days of hire and maintained thereafter; CPR/First Aid certification upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on personal care assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to WelbeHealth participants, including escorting, toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, laundry and lifting when transferring participants.
• Measure and document participants’ vital signs as instructed.
• Act as a medical escort when needed, assisting participants with boarding and exiting WelbeHealth transportation vehicles.
• Oversee activity on the day center floor to assure participant safety.
• Assist with meal service, ensuring participants receive the correct meals, and assist with feeding when needed.
• Maintain personal care supplies such as incontinence supplies and grooming items.
