Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required at the time of hire.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• 9+ years of relevant experience in technical operations, systems engineering, data management, or a related discipline with a Bachelor’s degree; OR
• 7+ years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; OR
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 13+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing high-volume data flows and storage solutions, including distributed messaging, data orchestration, and cloud-native storage technologies.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and complex data ecosystems.
• Experience with enterprise observability, monitoring, and log-analysis platforms used to evaluate system health and minimize data discovery latency.
• Strong understanding of network data, metadata, data quality, and structured and semi-structured log formats, including JSON and XML.
• Experience managing ETL processes supporting rapid data availability and analytics.
• Experience using SQL for data validation and collaboration with technical teams and customers.
• Experience using scripting or programming languages such as Python or Java to automate repetitive processes and improve efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex data pipeline and distributed-system issues.
• Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to translate customer mission requirements into actionable technical specifications and engineering priorities.
• Must obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, spending 1–2 days per week on-site in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary technical liaison between the customer and Evlos technical teams, managing expectations and translating data requirements into actionable engineering tasks.
• Help lead the daily operations of the DataOps team to accelerate data availability and improve reliability.
• Oversee deployment, maintenance, and optimization of data flows using standardized templates and best practices.
• Monitor platform and pipeline performance to improve availability, stability, and operational efficiency.
• Lead cluster performance tuning and pipeline monitoring to minimize data discovery latency.
• Drive automation and proactive monitoring of the data platform.
• Ensure mission-critical data pipelines are scalable, reliable, documented, and aligned with customer requirements.
• Facilitate collaboration across teams to reuse scripts, flow strategies, and engineering practices.
• Develop automated quality gates, schema validation, and controls to maintain data integrity before production.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex data pipeline and distributed-system issues across messaging, orchestration, and cloud environments.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to technical team members and promote engineering standards.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and accelerate delivery of mission-critical data.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
