Thompson Gray, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Datalinks Engineer to serve as the primary technical expert for PM UAS datalink activities.

The role supports the Chief Engineer and PM UAS Product Offices, providing leadership across the enterprise in datalink development, integration, qualification, fielding, modernization, and sustainment. Responsibilities include establishing a unified PM UAS datalink strategy, coordinating with government labs and external partners, and guiding risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or related field
• Strong understanding of RF, datalink, and communications technologies
• Ability to independently investigate complex technical issues and prepare technical recommendations
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance
• On-site work with limited telework eligibility and willingness to travel up to 25%

Responsabilités

• Develop and coordinate a comprehensive UAS datalink strategy and roadmap
• Serve as principal datalink technical advisor to division leadership
• Oversee datalink system development, integration, qualification, production, and sustainment
• Evaluate RF equipment, antennas, modems, waveforms, encryption, COMSEC, and TRANSEC considerations
• Lead technical working groups and interface control activities
• Coordinate with government laboratories, contractors, and external stakeholders
• Communicate technical direction, architectures, standards, and investments to leadership
