Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Data Engineer specializing in Databricks, data governance, and security to lead federal data integration initiatives. You will design harmonized data schemas, enforce metadata standards, and implement encryption and RBAC across a hybrid cloud environment.

The role requires deep cloud data platform experience, strong Python/Scala ETL skills, and a track record of successful migrations on federal programs. Remote work options apply with a Public Trust clearance pathway.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Extensive database engineering experience with cloud data platforms.
• Hands-on Databricks, Delta Lake, or equivalent cloud data lakehouse experience.
• Proficiency in Python or Scala for ETL and automation scripts.
• Knowledge of FIPS 140, NIST SP 800-171/800-172, and CUI governance standards.
• Experience designing RBAC and security controls in federal cloud environments.
• Experience leading migrations and production cutovers on federal programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of harmonized data schema in a cloud data lakehouse.
• Produce field-level mapping documents and data lineage.
• Define metadata standards across ingested datasets.
• Design automated data quality validation frameworks in ETL pipelines.
• Build the Metadata and Authoritative Source Registry with data stewardship contacts.
• Implement FIPS 140 encryption and NIST-based security controls.
