Fearless Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will serve as Team Lead to support a federal agency’s enterprise data modernization, building a secure, cloud-native data platform. The role combines hands-on Databricks work with leadership and consulting responsibilities in a fully remote setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/DS/IS or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
• Proven hands-on experience with Databricks for data engineering and ETL/ELT development.
• Experience designing scalable data solutions on cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
• Proficiency with SQL, Delta Lake, and data transformation tools like Azure Data Factory.
• Experience designing enterprise data models for performance and governance.
• Experience partnering with customers or stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Experience managing technical team members in a consulting or client-facing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional delivery teams and build trusted relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own ingestion architecture design for scalable data flows into the platform.
• Design data models balancing performance, scalability, and governance.
• Lead ETL/ELT development using Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Support migration of legacy workloads to the cloud-native platform.
• Partner with governance and data quality teams on standards.
• Provide architectural guidance on scalable data solutions and platform standards.
• Lead the Fearless team across workstreams and mentor team members.
• Serve as primary liaison between Fearless team and customer leadership.
• Facilitate communication between Fearless leadership and the program.
