Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Databricks Data Engineer to build a government-owned Databricks workspace and ingest data from core agency systems. You will implement Unity Catalog for governance, configure MLflow for ML workflows, and produce sustainment documentation.

The role is 100% remote in the United States, requiring US citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance, with 5+ years in BS/BA (or 3+ with MS) and Databricks experience.

Qualifications

• 5 years work experience with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA
• US Citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance
• 2 years working on the Databricks platform
• Strong PySpark, Spark SQL, and Python for data processing
• Hands-on Unity Catalog administration and data lineage
• Experience with data integration from enterprise systems
• Familiarity with Azure/AWS cloud platforms and IaC
• Understanding of data governance, CUI/PII handling
• Git/CI-CD pipelines and DoD 8570 certification

Responsibilities

• Hands-on build-out of a government Databricks workspace
• Design and implement data ingestion pipelines from core systems
• Implement Unity Catalog for governance and lineage
• Configure MLflow for ML workflows and maintain docs
• Develop sustainment-ready architecture diagrams and SOPs
• Assess and improve security controls for sensitive data
• Document data sources, integration methods, and data lake decisions
