Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC seeks a Database Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and support enterprise database and storage systems for DoD/IC missions. You will ensure availability, integrity, performance, and recoverability across distributed networks, while guiding upgrades, replication, and backups.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, 8+ years in DoD/IC environments, and strong storage architectures knowledge.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 8+ years in enterprise database/storage in DoD/IC.
• Experience with NAS, SAN and enterprise storage systems.
• Experience implementing replication, backup, DR and BC solutions.
• Familiarity with patching, lifecycle maintenance, and system updates.
• Ability to analyze performance and propose scalable storage solutions.
• Tier 3 engineering support for storage/database environments.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours or on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise database and storage solutions.
• Provide Tier 3 support for database, storage, and network storage appliances.
• Install system patches and perform updates.
• Manage storage allocation, capacity planning, and replication strategies.
• Analyze and resolve complex storage/network issues.
• Troubleshoot and restore enterprise-wide storage/replication across WAN.
• Data recovery operations to ensure mission availability.
• Monitor performance, availability, and integrity of systems.
• Provide recommendations for storage upgrades and system enhancements.
• Support project integrations, migrations, and modernization efforts.
• Develop and maintain technical docs and recovery plans.
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity and data protection.
