Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Database Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and provide Tier-3 engineering support for enterprise database and storage systems supporting DoD/IC missions. The role ensures data availability, integrity, performance, and recoverability across distributed networks.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in DoD/IC environments, TS/SCI clearance, and strong knowledge of NAS, SAN, and replication strategies, along with patch management and lifecycle

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 8+ years of DoD/IC experience in enterprise database and storage.
• Experience with NAS, SAN, and enterprise storage architectures.
• Experience with replication, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Strong patch management and lifecycle maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to provide Tier 3 engineering support for enterprise storage and database environments.
• Willingness for after-hours on-call or emergency support.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise database and storage solutions supporting DIA mission systems.
• Provide Tier 3 support for database, storage, and network storage appliances.
• Install system patches and perform database and storage platform updates.
• Manage storage allocation, capacity planning, space utilization, and replication strategies.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues related to storage systems and network storage solutions.
• Troubleshoot and restore enterprise-wide storage and replication issues across WANs.
• Perform data recovery operations to ensure system continuity and mission availability.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and integrity to prevent outages and data loss.
• Provide technical recommendations for storage upgrades and system enhancements.
• Support project integration efforts, system migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and recovery plans.
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity, data protection, and operational requirements.
