Job summary

Regional Finance is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to ensure stability, security, and performance of their SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments. You will own database administration, HA/DR, and performance tuning, and mentor team members.

Role includes supporting ETL and reporting via SSIS and SSRS, partnering with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions, and aiding in database standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of database administration and development in Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
• Deep expertise in performance tuning including execution plans and indexing.
• Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions for SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with SSIS package development, deployment, and troubleshooting, and SSRS reporting.
• Experience automating tasks with scripting (PowerShell, T-SQL, Python, or Bash).
• Familiarity with source control (Git/GitHub) and SDLC processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage backup, recovery, and HA/DR strategies (Always On, log shipping, streaming replication).
• Handle database security, access control, permissions, and auditing.
• Plan and perform patching, upgrades, and capacity planning.
• Respond to outages and incidents as part of on-call rotation.
• Lead performance tuning using execution plans, indexing, and wait analysis.
• Design and optimize code across SQL Server and PostgreSQL (procedures, functions, views, triggers).
• Build code and processes to support growing business needs.
• Design, deploy, and monitor SSIS packages and SQL Agent jobs; create and deploy SSRS reports.
