Casey’s is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to design, implement, and modernize database platforms across Azure and on‑prem environments. You will lead performance tuning, security, and automation while mentoring DBAs and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

This role is onsite at Casey’s Store Support Center in Ankeny, IA, with no 100% remote option. You will drive resiliency, scalability, and modernization across our hybrid data platforms to support stores, corporate operations,

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of database administration/engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience with data management disciplines and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize SQL Server databases across Azure and on‑prem environments.
• Lead performance tuning, indexing, and resource optimization to ensure reliability.
• Implement and test backup/recovery and DR strategies to protect data.
• Apply HA, BAG/AAGs concepts and automation to improve resiliency.
• Mentor DBAs and engineers to raise standards and reduce incidents.
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to support workloads.
