Job summary

Sectra is seeking a Database Specialist to serve as the senior database expert within our Cloud Operations team. The role focuses on Microsoft SQL Server across on‑premises and Azure, driving escalations, performance improvements, and best practices.

You will mentor engineers, create knowledge resources, and collaborate with Product and Deployment teams to strengthen our technical capabilities. Hybrid work near Denver is available.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments.
• Experience troubleshooting SQL Server performance, queries, indexing, backups/restores, replication, and high availability.
• Experience with on-premises and Azure SQL environments and Always On Availability Groups.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical escalation resource for complex Microsoft SQL Server and database-related customer issues.
• Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve advanced SQL Server performance, availability, and database administration issues across on-premises and Azure environments.
• Partner with Cloud Operations, Support, Deployment, and other teams to drive timely resolution of high-priority escalations.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to engineers; develop training, documentation, and best practices for SQL Server administration.
