Job summary

Vernovis is seeking a senior Database Administrator to maintain and modernize our SQL Server environments. You’ll lead HA/DR, tune performance, and guide migration toward Azure and cloud data platforms.

This role blends hands-on DBA work with development and troubleshooting, partnering with developers and IT teams, and participating in Agile/Scrum activities to deliver reliable data services. You will mentor staff, enforce security, and drive best practices across data platforms and reporting

Qualifications

10+ years IT experience with 7+ years MS SQL Server DBA experience.
Advanced SSRS and SSIS experience.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for enterprise database and reporting platforms.
Design, implement, and manage Microsoft SQL Server and Azure database environments.
Develop and maintain database security, auditing, backup/recovery, and DR strategies.
Monitor database operations, performance, ETL processes, and capacity.
Support migration of legacy databases to enterprise standards and cloud platforms.
Provide Tier 3 technical support and participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.
Lead Agile/Scrum activities and partner with leadership to prioritize tasks.
