Job summary

McAfee is seeking a Senior Application Database Engineer in Frisco, TX, to join the Database Engineering team. The role focuses on administering, designing, and optimizing PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases across cloud platforms with automation and IaC.

You will drive performance, data modeling, lifecycle management, and secure scalable architectures, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid on-site/remote setup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of database administration and engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience managing databases within AWS environments.
• Strong understanding of database structures, algorithms, software architecture, and scalable computing systems.
• Experience supporting both production and non-production environments.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL Administration.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, including DynamoDB.
• Strong knowledge of AWS database services and cloud architecture.
• Expertise in Database Design, Data Architecture, and Data Modeling.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases in production and non-production environments.
• Evaluate, configure, install, and manage DBMS through automated deployment processes.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure database solutions.
• Perform database monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization activities.
• Develop and maintain database designs, data architectures, and data models.
• Collaborate with application teams to review and improve database structures.
