Job summary

MeridianLink, Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to design, build, and scale enterprise data infrastructure across Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

You will architect robust solutions and optimize complex environments for high performance in both cloud and on‑premises setups. You will collaborate with developers and architects to model data efficiently, implement security controls, and manage migrations, backups, and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional database engineering experience.
• Expert MS SQL Server (2016+) with T-SQL, procedures, and functions.
• Strong PostgreSQL and MongoDB NoSQL experience.
• AWS RDS/Aurora databases experience.
• Backup/restore and DR planning proficiency.
• Database security, encryption, and compliance knowledge.
• Query optimization and index strategy expertise.
• Always-On availability and DR testing experience.
• Troubleshooting replication, clustering, connectivity issues.
• Collaborates with developers on data models.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimize multi-cloud and on-prem databases.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and procedures.
• Manage indices to boost performance across platforms.
• Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and DR procedures.
• Conduct DR drills and validate RTO/RPO readiness.
• Monitor performance and implement tuning strategies.
• Collaborate with developers to design data models.
• Enforce security practices, access controls, and encryption.
• Manage migrations, upgrades, and version control.
• Troubleshoot replication, clustering, and connectivity issues.
