Job summary

MeridianLink, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Database Engineer to design, build, and scale enterprise data infrastructure across Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB ecosystems.

You will architect robust data solutions, optimize complex environments, and ensure high-performance data management in cloud and on‑premises platforms. You will design deployment patterns across multi-cloud environments, implement backup and DR strategies, and lead performance tuning.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional database engineering experience.
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later), including deep knowledge of T-SQL development, index strategies, and execution plan optimization.
• Experience with MSSQL Always-On Availability Groups, mirroring, log shipping, backup/restore strategies, and point-in-time recovery.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience managing databases on AWS RDS and Aurora; familiarity with security, encryption, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimize database types across multi-cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views.
• Create, modify, and remove indices to improve performance across platforms.
• Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures; validate RTO/RPO.
• Conduct disaster recovery drills and failover testing; monitor performance and tune systems.
• Collaborate with developers to design efficient data models and schemas.
• Implement security best practices, access controls, and encryption across platforms.
• Manage database migrations, upgrades, and version control.
• Troubleshoot replication, clustering, and connectivity issues.
