Job summary

Mindlance is seeking an Expert Database Architect and L2 Technical Operational Support for NYS Information Technology Services, on behalf of the NYS Department of Transportation. The role involves collaborating with agency SMEs and IT teams to define requirements and design robust, secure data architectures.

You will lead data infrastructure design, integrate diverse data sources, and participate in end-to-end SSDLC including debugging, testing, and deployment of data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Interact with agency SMEs, vendors and IT teams to gather business needs and design application requirements.
• Design data infrastructure to extract, organize, and securely provide data to authorized users.
• Identify data sources and collaborate to determine storage and organizational needs for data infrastructure.
• Participate in SSDLC, including debugging and configuration of solutions.
• Identify, implement, and improve ODI/ELT and ETL processes and architectures.
• Review design deliverables, manage build phases, and ensure code quality to meet requirements.
• Resolve complex design and development issues and identify bugs missed by others.
• Determine requirements for new databases and install solutions.
• Publish and present design reports and coordinate with stakeholders to meet milestones.
• Audit systems to maintain quality, improve current processes, and ensure data security.
• Document all components of approved solutions including system integrations.
• Write clean, testable code using advanced analytical functions and perform testing and debugging.
