Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to lead and manage mission-critical databases across production and non-production environments. You will supervise DBA teams, optimize performance, and implement backup, DR, and high-availability strategies to ensure reliability and scale.

The role requires hands-on tuning, cloud experience, and collaboration with IT partners to deliver secure, efficient database solutions while supporting development efforts and on-call

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in database administration, design, and development.
5+ years of experience with tuning, performance, and scalability projects.
2+ years of experience with cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

Partner with IT resources to ensure solutions are utilized and supported across the organization.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior DBAs in a 24x7 environment.
Ensure database availability, reliability, and performance through monitoring and tuning.
