Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Database Administrator to design, deploy, upgrade, and optimize enterprise databases to support patient care and business objectives on established timelines. You will monitor performance, implement query optimization, and document procedures.

This role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree. You will provide 2nd/3rd level support, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with IT and clinical teams in a HIPAA-compliant environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub) is required.
• Experience in healthcare or life sciences environment (EMR/EHR, HL7/FHIR, HIPAA) is beneficial.
• Ability to troubleshoot ETL/data pipeline issues and coordinate with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Installs, configures, and supports database platforms and related software.
• Provides second and third level operational support for issues from the Service Desk.
• Participates in an on-call rotation.
• Performs availability, capacity, and performance analysis with maintenance and backups.
• Develops and maintains installation, administration, and disaster recovery documentation.
• Participates in change management and performance improvement programs.
