We’re looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to help support and evolve enterprise‑scale data platforms. In this role, you’ll focus on the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of database environments that support critical business applications and analytics.
This is a hands‑on position for someone who enjoys owning systems end‑to‑end, collaborating across teams, and helping modernize data platforms through cloud adoption and continuous improvement. The environment is fast‑moving, growing, and values thoughtful problem‑solving and teamwork.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Administering, monitoring, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases in production environments
- Supporting cloud‑based data platforms in Microsoft Azure, including modern analytics and reporting solutions
- Managing backup and recovery processes, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning
- Helping ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity across database environments
- Implementing and maintaining database security best practices, including access controls and auditing
- Partnering with application development, infrastructure, security, and data teams on new initiatives and ongoing support
- Identifying performance, capacity, and reliability risks and driving improvements
- Supporting data migrations, platform modernization, and hybrid or cloud transitions
- Creating and maintaining documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
- Participating in on‑call or escalation support for critical production issues as needed
What we’re looking for:
- Several years of hands‑on experience as a Database Administrator in production environments
- Strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server
- Familiarity with Azure‑based data platforms, such as Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed Instance, or SQL Server on Azure
- Exposure to modern data and analytics platforms (experience with Azure Fabric is a plus, but not required)
- Solid SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning
- Working knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and operational best practices
- Ability to prioritize work, troubleshoot effectively, and take ownership of outcomes
- Comfortable collaborating with both technical and non‑technical partners
Nice to have:
- Experience supporting high‑availability or business‑critical systems
- Exposure to Azure services like Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, or Power BI
- Experience with automation, scripting, or infrastructure‑as‑code
- Background in regulated or enterprise environments
