Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain, optimize, and secure mission-critical databases across SQL Server and Oracle. This full-time, hybrid role can be based in several U.S. cities including Phoenix.

Under the Database Manager, you will ensure high availability, performance tuning, security governance, and disaster recovery readiness while coordinating with IT, application support, and development teams to deliver reliable data solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 8+ years hands-on experience administering SQL Server and Oracle database environments.
  • Strong experience with on-premises SQL Server (2014, 2017, 2019, 2022).
  • Proficiency with Azure database technologies, including deployment, scaling, and security.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle administration (user management, release management, routine maintenance).
  • Familiarity with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication and synchronization.
  • Background in cloud database technologies, including migration, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
  • Experience with incident management and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Idera, and Azure Monitor.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation, reporting, and integration.
  • Foundational understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
  • Ability to research and resolve issues beyond core areas of expertise.
  • Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable working with minimal supervision.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities across database technologies.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communicator with both technical teams and management stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
