Job summary

Northern VA Community College seeks an Associate Director of Data Warehouse & Data Architect to lead SQL modeling, data warehouse engineering, and analytics support for Budget and Finance. The role directs a team responsible for enterprise reporting, data governance, and data integration, translating complex requirements into scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in SQL and data manipulation for reporting and analytics.
• Experience designing and supporting data warehousing and BI solutions.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop a team including a Business Analyst, Data Quality Manager, SAS Programmer, and SQL Developer.
• Manage workload, resources, and project portfolios to deliver data and reporting solutions on time.
• Provide strategic leadership for data warehouse, BI, and data governance initiatives.
• Communicate project status, risks, and resource needs to leadership.
• Design and maintain enterprise data architectures to support Budget and Finance data warehouse solutions.
• Evaluate existing data systems for modernization and improved data access.
• Oversee ETL processes, data pipelines, warehouse structures, and reporting environments.
• Guide design and development of SQL-based solutions for institutional reporting and analytics.
• Review technical designs, data models, and code produced by team members.
• Lead troubleshooting for data integration and reporting issues.
• Solicit input from employees for college decisions and share with NOVA Brief.
