Job summary

South Carolina Department of Public Health is seeking a data-focused professional to support the Data Modernization Initiative. You will work with epidemiologists and IT staff, developing R and Python scripts, and supporting REDCap projects for routine and ad hoc needs.

Role includes data validation for a new Electronic Disease Surveillance System and may require travel for emergencies. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is minimum; programming knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; related field preferred.
• Experience with data management and analysis.
• Knowledge of programming languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist epidemiologists and IT staff on data projects.
• Develop, modify, and run R and Python scripts for data prep and analysis.
• Create and support REDCap projects for routine or ad hoc needs.
• Participate in EDSS development and data validation.
• Travel as required; respond during emergencies.
