Job summary

Velir is a remote-first agency delivering data-rich strategies for nonprofits and Fortune 500 brands. The Senior Manager of Data Strategy leads end-to-end engagements, aligning data platforms with client business goals and driving governance across multiple workstreams.

You will guide discovery, shape architecture decisions, and partner with leadership to deliver high-impact analytics solutions while mentoring teams and ensuring client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of leading complex data projects across multi-functional teams.
• Strong project management skills and experience with Agile frameworks.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication abilities.
• Deep knowledge of the modern data stack and cloud/on-prem architectures.
• Familiarity with AI and agentic workflows and metadata concepts.
• Hands-on experience as data analyst/engineer or similar.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Communicate data solution vision and gain internal/external buy-in.
• Frame roadmaps around client goals and urgency; manage multiple workstreams.
• Lead client relationships and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Manage sprint boards, backlog, planning, and retrospectives.
• Identify risks, propose remediation, and support account expansion.
