Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Data Storage Engineer to support the NDOC at the Intelligence Community Campus in Bethesda, MD. The role focuses on storage engineering, optimization, and operations across on‑prem and cloud environments.

The engineer will develop scalable architectures, lifecycle plans, and engineering artifacts while ensuring availability, performance, and mission growth. DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II required; TS/SCI clearance may be necessary.

Qualifications

DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II certification requirements, currently Security CE, CCNA‑Security, GSEC, or SSCP, along with an appropriate computing environment (CE) certification.
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance as required for the position.
Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant storage experience or equivalent.
Extensive experience administering enterprise-scale storage systems and architectures.

Responsibilities

Design scalable enterprise storage architectures across on-premises and cloud environments.
Engineer lifecycle replacement strategies balancing risk, cost, and continuity.
Create architecture diagrams, low-level designs, and data flow mappings.
Install, configure, and administer Rubrik, Dell EMC, and other storage systems.
Support disaster recovery architecture and continuity planning for storage services.
Monitor storage health, performance, and capacity trends.
Coordinate with VMware ESX administrators for SAN provisioning and datastores.
Develop automation opportunities using system APIs for storage operations.
