Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a data engineer for the USRM Data Office in the Boston area. The role focuses on building scalable data solutions, governance, and self-service capabilities to turn data into measurable business value.

You will work with data analysts, stewards and product owners to improve data quality, lineage and security, while exploring AI-driven enhancements and modern BI tooling.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field preferred
3+ years building production data pipelines and dashboards
Experience with data quality testing and automated data tests
Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable data solutions with a focus on reusability
Prototype and develop data solutions meeting business needs
Stay updated with data engineering advancements and tools
Identify opportunities to apply Gen AI for data discovery and documentation
Design proof-of-concept solutions across multiple languages to meet requirements
Mentor junior team members and guide technical direction
Optimize data infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
Prioritize work by customer value and manage complex deliverables
Ensure metadata, lineage, definitions, and data security are addressed
