Citi in Irving, Texas is seeking a Data Solutions Engineer (Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst) to help build scalable data pipelines and cloud-based platforms that power analytics, reporting, and data science across the organization.

The role combines hands-on engineering with collaboration across data scientists, architects, and engineers, focusing on Spark, Hadoop, AWS/GCP, data governance, and performance tuning in an enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related field.
• Experience building large-scale data pipelines in production.
• Hands-on Python and PySpark to process data at scale.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling, and Spark/Hadoop/Kafka/Hive.
• Ability to drive implementation and coding standards for data engineering.
• Experience tuning Hadoop and non-Hadoop big data applications.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for analytics and ML.
• Develop big data solutions using Spark, Hadoop, and cloud services.
• Collaborate with data scientists to engineer data pipelines for analytics.
• Work with architects to gather requirements and implement data platform designs.
• Apply data quality controls, monitoring, and governance standards.
• Research new technologies and advocate improvements for performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
• Participate in Agile delivery including sprint planning, development, testing, and production support.
