Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer in Irving, TX. You will design and enhance scalable data processing solutions, combining Python/PySpark with SQL Server and ETL workflows.

You will troubleshoot production data applications, optimize performance, and collaborate with engineering and business teams on large-scale data platforms. The role emphasizes data architecture, batch automation, and modern DevOps practices, with exposure to Hadoop ecosystems and data quality controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Strong hands-on Python and PySpark for large-scale data processing.
• Extensive SQL/ T‑SQL experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with ETL architectures, data warehousing, and BI/SSIS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support scalable ETL/data-processing pipelines.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data objects.
• Identify and resolve performance issues; tune queries and indexing.
• Build and support large-scale data processing across SQL Server and distributed platforms.
• Apply dimensional and relational modeling for scalable data warehouses.
• Perform production support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Develop enterprise batch workflows using AutoSys; collaborate across teams.
• Work with Hadoop/HDFS/Hive and related technologies for big data.
• Ensure data quality, reconciliation, monitoring, and logging in pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews; enforce standards; support DevOps practices.
