Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer, Data (Starlink) to design and implement a scalable data platform powering Starlink’s satellite internet ecosystem. You will ingest, process, store, and query massive datasets, building robust data pipelines and collaborating across architecture, engineering, and product teams.

You will own the software lifecycle, apply strong data engineering practices, and tackle complex problems with cross-functional peers to maximize Starlink’s impact globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or scientific discipline; OR 7+ years of professional software experience
• 5+ years of experience in full stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data science

Responsibilities

• Develop a highly reliable and scalable enterprise data platform empowering users to ingest, process, store, and query at petabyte-scale
• Create new functionality and end-to-end data pipelines that improve how SpaceX operates
• Collaborate with peers on architecture, design, and code reviews
• Build prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints
• Own all aspects of software engineering and product development
• Deep dive into business problems, find efficient solutions and apply first principles thinking
