Job summary

Surescripts seeks a Senior Architect - Data and Semantic Intelligence to serve as the technical authority for how data is modeled, structured, and made meaningful across the Enterprise Data Platform. This is the most senior individual contributor architecture role with broad, consequential scope.

The role spans data/solution architecture and semantic intelligence, defining canonical data models, semantic layer design, and knowledge frameworks for internal teams, external partners, and AI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in data architecture or a closely related technical discipline.
• Deep expertise in data modeling (relational and semantic) and canonical model design.
• Experience defining and governing semantic layers in a platform context.
• Strong command of cloud data platform architecture (GCP/BigQuery preferred).
• Experience defining externalization and API architecture for data platforms.
• Familiarity with semantic technologies (RDF, OWL, knowledge graphs).
• Ability to explain complex architectural decisions to both engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
• Preferred: advanced degree and platform capabilities for data observability and trust.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise data architecture and blueprint for the Enterprise Data Platform.
• Lead solution architecture across the platform and ensure consistency.
• Own the canonical data model and governance for core entities.
• Lead semantic model design and establish architecture-approved artifacts.
• Define platform topology and externalization principles.
• Architect for machine/AI consumers and scalable semantics.
• Drive architectural governance and review processes.
• Partner with Trust & Enablement on semantic standards and Collibra integration.
• Shape the technology roadmap and contribute to platform strategy.
