Job summary

Surescripts, LLC is seeking a Senior Architect – Data and Semantic Intelligence to own the enterprise data architecture and canonical data model across the Enterprise Data Platform. This senior IC role sets direction, defines semantic standards, and guides cross‑functional delivery teams to ensure consistency and trust in data assets.

The candidate will lead semantic design, platform topology, and AI-ready architecture, coordinating with Trust & Enablement and the VP of Enterprise Data Platform

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in data architecture, solution architecture, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Deep expertise in data modeling, canonical model design, entity resolution, ontology development, or knowledge graph architecture.
• Proven experience defining and governing semantic layers, ideally in a platform context serving multiple consumer types.
• Strong command of cloud data platform architecture, with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery experience preferred.
• Experience defining externalization and API architecture for data platforms, including data contracts and access patterns.
• Familiarity with semantic technologies (RDF, OWL, property graphs, or knowledge graph platforms).
• Demonstrated ability to act as a technical authority and govern architectural standards.
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated data environments.
• Deep understanding of healthcare data domains (pharmacy, clinical, claims, provider).
• Ability to explain complex architectural decisions to engineering and senior business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise data architecture and blueprint for the Enterprise Data Platform.
• Lead solution architecture for cross-cutting platform initiatives.
• Design and govern the canonical data model for core entities and relationships.
• Define semantic layer specifications and enforce design artifacts as gate to builds.
• Define platform topology and externalization principles for trusted access.
• Architect for machine and AI consumers with scalable semantic patterns.
• Drive architectural governance and maintain an architecture review process.
• Collaborate with Trust & Enablement to align canonical models with business glossary.
• Shape the technology roadmap and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Participate in Enterprise Data Platform leadership and roadmap planning.
