Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Data Security Analyst — Master to lead enterprise security controls for data, networks, and cloud environments. This senior role requires hands-on work with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, Panorama, Cortex, and Strata, plus strong Cisco security capabilities.

The position is fully remote within the United States. You will mentor analysts, drive security improvements, and collaborate with multiple teams to strengthen the enterprise security program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity or related field.
• Hands-on firewall administration in enterprise environments.
• Expertise with Palo Alto Networks next‑gen firewalls, Panorama, Cortex, Strata.
• Strong Cisco networking and security capabilities including ISE and Secure Firewall.
• Experience with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI/DSS) and cloud/network security.

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize Palo Alto Networks firewalls across data centers, refsites, and cloud.
• Lead centralized firewall management using Palo Alto Panorama and enforce policy governance.
• Design security policies with least-privilege, app‑ID, TLS decryption where approved, and threat prevention.
• Develop detections and response playbooks using Cortex and SIEM platforms.
• Collaborate with Security Operations Center and Cloud/Infra teams on remediation.
