Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support USSOCOM POTFF, identifying innovative data-driven solutions across SOF. You will consult with supported units and POTFF staff to capture data for initiatives and apply advanced ML techniques.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, model development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a government contracting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 7+ years in data analysis/science.
• Strong knowledge of ML algorithms (k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, decision trees).
• Experience with data visualization tools and SQL databases.
• Excellent oral and written communication; independent worker or team player.

Responsibilities

• Interpret results using data aggregation, statistics, mining, and pattern recognition.
• Develop and refine classifiers with modern ML techniques for performance.
• Serve as SME in data and analytics to peers and stakeholders.
• Identify suitable decision technologies: optimization, simulation, regression, trees, neural nets.
• Forecast trends with quantitative methods and maintain reliable predictions.
• Expand data collection to support robust analytics systems.
• Develop automated anomaly detection and monitor model performance.
• Lead project management and cross-team communication to meet deadlines.
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to MAXIMUS initiatives.
• Drive execution in additional MAXIMUS strategic areas.
