Job summary

Life360 is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to own the path from revenue opportunity to production ML for Direct Revenue, impacting ads, subscriptions, and in-app purchases across Life360's 100M+ MAU. You will size opportunities, align priorities with business leads, and ship models with the team of data scientists and engineers.

This role requires scaling production ML, defining the team roadmap with the data science lead and product manager, and mentoring teammates in a fast-paced AI-native

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in statistics, mathematics, or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience scoping, building, and analyzing ML-powered systems shipped to production.
• Proficiency with Python, scikit-learn, PySpark, and causal inference programming.
• Experience applying modern causal inference techniques.
• Instrumentation and measurement for data transformations to support analyses and ML.
• Hands-on experimentation in consumer technology space (design, monitoring, analysis).
• Experience in consumer products (subscriptions, transactions, ads) and cross-functional leadership.
• Strong communication and leadership to influence teams.
• Experience leveraging Generative AI & LLMs in data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Investigate revenue-generating options and size opportunities using data.
• Design, build, deploy, and operate production ML systems for personalization and monetization.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, and MLOps to integrate systems into features.
• Set up monitoring for ML features and measure impact.
• Ensure data, code, and model lineage for reproducibility and security.
• Improve the data ecosystem and data pipelines feeding experiments and ML.
• Mentor other data scientists and establish best practices for ML systems.
