Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, CS, or related field.
• 6+ years of data analytics, program evaluation, BI, or related quantitative work.
• Strong SQL skills with complex relational data and cohort construction.
• Strong Python or R for reproducible analysis; Python preferred for future stack.
• Ability to distinguish descriptive, predictive, and causal questions and defend methods.
• Experience with reproducible code, version control, testing, and documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Sound judgment with sensitive healthcare/data; ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of analytics products combining SQL data, Power Platform, and reproducible workflows.
• Partner with leadership to frame questions, define populations, outcomes, time windows, and objectives.
• Write efficient SQL, build analysis-ready cohorts, and validate data quality.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and Power Apps experiences for performance and operational insight.
• Apply descriptive, predictive, and causal methods using regression, longitudinal analysis, and cohort balancing as appropriate.
• Develop modular Python or R analytics workflows for data manipulation, visualization, modeling, and reporting.
• Establish repeatable checks for data lineage, coverage, and cohort attrition; ensure traceability to code and data.
• Read and reconcile legacy SAS workflows and migrate to Python where feasible.
• Define milestones, manage blockers, and communicate progress with transparent forecasts.
• Translate analytic results into clear program meaning, uncertainties, and recommended actions.
• Provide technical guidance, review code, and promote maintainable data, dashboards, and docs.
• Ensure responsible use of AI in VA environments and compliance with PII/PHI controls.
