Job summary

LMI is seeking a Data Analyst to support a major VA office through data analysis, reporting, and Power Platform solutions. You will translate questions into data requirements, prepare data, and deliver dashboards and recurring analyses with quality checks.

Responsibilities include building Power BI reports, writing SQL, and maintaining documentation. The role requires collaboration with VA stakeholders and project teams, leveraging Excel and Power Query for efficient reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required or preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, BI, or operational analytics with independent ownership.
• Power BI experience with reports, dashboards, visuals, data connections, and calculations.
• Proficiency in SQL: filtering, joining, and understanding relational keys and relationships.
• Proficient Excel skills: formulas, data manipulation, and data quality checks.
• Ability to translate requirements into actionable reporting tasks and data workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication; capable of coordinating with stakeholders and tracking follow‑ups.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build, update, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and visuals; connect to data sources and create measures and filters.
• Write and adapt SQL queries to extract and validate data across sources.
• Perform data entry, cleansing, reconciliation, validation, and quality checks; resolve discrepancies.
• Translate stakeholder questions into data requirements, metrics, and outputs; document processes and known limitations.
• Support configuration of Power Apps, Dataverse tables/forms, and Power Automate workflows.
• Assist with testing, UAT, defect tracking, and change requests.
• Create and track work items through sprint cycles using Jira, Azure DevOps, or Aha!
• Coordinate with stakeholders to track requests, action items, status, dependencies, and blockers.
• Use Excel and Power Query for basic analysis and recurring reporting support.
• Maintain documentation: SOPs, data definitions, and project materials.
• Own analysis through delivery and perform quality reviews and peer guidance.
